Stoke Gabriel Meet - 220410 to 040510
This being a 12 days meet, it was difficult for one person to
report on all that took place.
On the second Friday morning, we were due to say farewell to a small group who
were heading for Bodmin and a 1940's weekend over the Bank Holiday.
However the rest of us were treated to a fashion parade (some of you will have
seen photographs at the Festival of Photography) on the Thursday night, just
before we had a group get together for a fish and chip supper.
Friday evening saw us in Collaton St Mary church hall for a
presentation by Mike Ford on his travels to Russia and Ireland and especially
his trip to New Zealand which was a result of winning a competition sponsored by
the Camping and Caravanning Club; a fascinating evening with some wonderful
photography showing once again how lucky we are to have talks by our own
members.
On the Saturday evening our 'resident tutor' Jeff Morgan gave
us a presentation on 'How to Improve your Landscape Photography'.
As with all Jeff's presentations his personal style, expertise, experience and
professionalism were again well demonstrated in the information he gave us and
in his images.
Unfortunately he was not bale to complete the presentation that evening but by
popular request, and by luck the hall being available, he was able to continue
on the Sunday evening and complete the 'lesson'. I am sure that all those who
attended the two sessions came away both impressed and inspired.
Monday found us in the gazebo with the usual showing of
members' images, many of which had been taken over the period of the meet.
Our thanks are due to all those who contributed to a very well attended and
enjoyable meet.
