Greenhill Farm, Oxford - 13th to 18th March 2008
We arrived on a sunny afternoon and set up camp unaware of
what was to come.
Stewards Beryl Moore, Hazel and Paul Leighton gave us the usual warm welcome and
a steady trickle of 'vans arrived during the day.
A barn was made available for the whole week, which although cold was spacious
and more than adequate for our needs.
On Thursday evening Chris Garritt gave a demonstration of computer colour
mixing.
Friday dawned bright and cold, allowing many free to explore the local
countryside and villages.
The evening slide show by Bill Chambers was interesting and unusual pub signs.
Saturday evenings talk by Sid Jervis, compared digital and darkroom photography
and created some lively discussion.
On Sunday evening members shared their images taken during the meet and on
Monday evening those remaining joined together at a local pub for an evening
meal.
(Thanks to Beryl for organising this.)
Saturday was the first council meeting of the year and HQ
official Keith Jackson and partner Lesley attended.
(A visiting official is due to attend all council meetings this year.)
They camped for 2 nights and said they were pleasantly surprised by the
welcoming drink and friendly chat.
Thanks go to Beryl, Hazel and Paul for stewarding the meet. It
was cold and wet at times, but the friendship was warm.
